SHADOW BURN,
SHADOW BLOOM

My latest work explores the interplay between flowers and shadows cast on the female form. Drawn to the distortions and the way they elegantly trace the curves of our physical form, these shadows serve as a poignant symbol of our shadow self - the parts of us we often repress or reject, such as painful emotions, past traumas, or feelings of shame and sadness. However, they also represent a powerful force of regeneration and renewal, similar to the regrowth that follows a forest fire.

Adversely, the flowers in my work embody our ideal self - a representation of growth, healing, beauty, and joy, as well as the inevitable aspects of life such as grief and sorrow. Through this body of work, I aim to honor and acknowledge the emotional depth and experiences that we carry within our bodies and the symbiotic cycles of regeneration that characterize our lives.
